Meet Regina B Brown MSW, LCSW
Founding Owner & Psychotherapist
You know what it feels like to sit at your kitchen table or on your front or back porch with a close friend or family member & talk the hours away? Some conversations bring laughter. Some bring tears. Some bring clarity. Therapy can take those conversations to the next level. You can expect therapy with me to be very relaxed. Put your feet up! Bring in your lunch! Check your phone! Tell me about your dog! Show me pictures! You tell me what is working and not working for you in therapy & I'll adjust. We'll move at your pace towards goals you set.
Now more about what makes our meetings psychotherapy & not just a social visit. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of North Carolina. I have degrees in Psychology & Social Work & am a Certified Clinical Supervisor to my peers. I use multiple approaches in therapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skill building, Emotion Focused Therapy, Gottman methods, Systematic Training for Effective Parenting and Seeking Safety. I love learning about human behaviors and mind body connections so this list is always expanding. What works for my patients is combining friendly conversations with various therapeutic interventions.
I frequently see clients for anxiety, depression, anger management, intrusive thoughts, trauma, parenting, bipolar, relationship conflict and life transitions including adulting and retirement. I offer individual therapy, family therapy and/or couples' therapy to patients ages 7 and up.
I have reached capacity with insurances and am not able to take new clients requiring therapy. I am, however, now offering a few same week appointments to clients who would benefit from supportive & coaching services in lieu of clinical therapy. These sessions are NOT reimbursable by insurances & will require payment before the appt to hold the appt time. Session cost is $210 for 60 min meetings. These sessions would be appropriate for assistance with marital issues & life stressors that do not meet the criteria for a diagnosis. Limited space available.
