You know what it feels like to sit at your kitchen table or on your front or back porch with a close friend or family member and talk the hours away? Some conversations bring laughter. Some bring tears. Some bring clarity. Therapy can take those conversations to the next level. You can expect therapy with me to be very relaxed and informal. Put your feet up! Bring in your lunch! Check your phone! Tell me about your dog! Show me pictures! You tell me what is working and not working for you in therapy and I'll adjust. We'll move at your pace towards goals you set.
In response to Covid-19, I too am trying to adjust and figure out what you need and what works for all of us. I am now offering teletherapy sessions which right now includes phone, video, email and even text. I have also made the decision to continue in-person office visits for anyone who prefers (and needs) a face to-face visit. As long as you are not showing typical symptoms of the virus and do not believe you have been exposed to the virus, I am very willing to meet at my office.
I am now using a VERY large open space originally intended for group meetings for all one-on-one sessions. You'll have all the distance you desire and our government leaders are recommending. I am also making every effort to space out in-person appointments so there are no overlaps. You will not wait in a waiting room with others. In fact there is no check-in at all. Your only contact will be with me. I have the wipes, soap, disinfectants ready to go and will wipe down surfaces between patients. Lastly, I have a fantastic private outdoor patio area that we can consider using on a pretty day. The office is tucked away in a beautifully landscaped corner. Picture walls of windows, filtered sunshine and lush natural areas. I truly hope you find this space as peaceful as I do. We need a bit of that don't we?
